And at the bottom of the post is a link to a detailed walkthrough of the panels in order of start to finish. Fun stuff! Hope you guys dig, and more importantly that it brings in some cash for the kids that need it most!!

How are the panels painted on? Did the helmet have to be stripped and then re-painted/with an additional protective coat? If so, how does the final finish of the Charity Special Edition helmet compare to the stock one?
Its like the star wars equivalent of a treasured family patchwork quilt!
You'll have to tell us a ballpark figure of how much it helped charity afterwards haha
I used sand paper to give the surface a rougher texture to work on before anything else. Anywhere there was a panel got sanded. Everywhere else was left alone. I then drafted everything in pencil (3H so it would be nice and light and not smear), then used a combination of oil paint pens and dry water colors to lay down the color, and finally inked with more oil paint pens. After all that, I sprayed it with a protective coating to give the helmet a really nice texture. It's a bit more rigid than the usual super smooth layer that I sanded off, but I really like the feel of it, actually.
And thanks much! haha I'll definitely update with the final price!
Oh, and thank you, sir. : D
